3 walnut liqueur cocktail recipes to impress your guests
Maison Sailler
September 2023
Mixology is an art nourished by traditions and terroirs. If walnut liqueur has long been relegated to the role of after-dinner digestif, it is now establishing itself as the centrepiece of the most creative bars. Discover how this Savoyard elixir can transform your gatherings into exceptional moments.
"Walnut liqueur is not an ingredient — it is a signature."
Sailler walnut spirit is not just an ingredient — it is an aromatic signature. It brings a woody complexity and depth that few other liqueurs possess, with notes of undergrowth and dried fruit. Its unique bitterness-sweetness balance and silky mouthfeel bind ingredients together for a seamless experience in every sip.
Our 3 exclusive creations for a perfect autumn cocktail
The Sailler's Old Fashioned reimagines the great classic: 4 cl Bourbon, 2 cl Sailler walnut liqueur, 2 dashes of orange bitters, garnished with a fresh walnut kernel. The Autumn Spritz combines 3 cl Sailler, 6 cl Prosecco and a dash of sparkling water, with a dried apple ring. Finally, the Noyer de Nuit — the best-kept secret of our distillers — unites 3 cl Sailler, 2 cl vodka, 1 cl wild blackberry juice and a squeeze of lemon, shaken vigorously for a delicate foam.

"Terroir can be enjoyed in a cocktail glass too."
— Our Head Bartender
For the full experience, never serve your liqueur ice-cold: a temperature between 12 °C and 14 °C allows the walnut aromas to blossom. Use a Tumbler glass for short cocktails or a stemmed glass for finer blends. A square of dark chocolate or a few shards of Beaufort will create a delicious echo with the woody notes.
